VSO Apple

This apple flavor has a sweet aroma, and a crisp refreshing taste. This flavor is naturally extracted at the peak of ripeness.

VSO Apple Baked

A little sweet, a little tart, and a whole lot of baked. Granny smith apples baked with a touch of brown sugar. This is no spice mix. Add spices to your own liking and come up with a recipe that is all your own.

VSO Apple Green

Granny Smith really packed a punch! This apple gives you a sweet and sour combination that goes famously with a nice caramel coating. A fantastic fall treat that is versatile enough to last all year.

VSO Apricot

A hint of sweetness, a touch of tartness with an underlying musky flavor.  Apricots marry well with just about anything, and brings a depth of flavor that is rivaled by nothing else.

VSO Blueberry

Take a sun kissed Maine blueberry, and extract all of the beautiful flavor from it, and this is what you end up with.

VSO Blueberry V2

For those who prefer a clear form of blueberry that can be used at a lower percentage, here is the blueberry version 2. . This pigmently challenged offering can easily go into a recipe at 2% and hold it’s own. Still tastes like a fresh blueberry, with a hint more of floral to it. The flavor profile is just slightly different than the original blueberry, but as promised, that one is left intact, and as is.

VSO Bourbon

This bourbon has base notes of oak and vanilla with top notes of smoky caramel. It has a very, very small hint of spice that lingers on the palette.

VSO Boysenberry

Boysenberry is a unique flavor. Take the body and hint of spiciness from a blackberry, and pair it with the tart acidity you get from a raspberry, and you have this hybrid berry lovingly brought to us by Charles Rudolph Boysen in the early 1900s.

VSO Brandy

This brandy’s body holds a subtle vanilla and forward nuttiness with a slight oaky, spicy backnote with a smooth, sweet finish.

VSO Brown Sugar

This dark brow sugar brings a sweet, rich, nuttiness to your recipes.

VSO Cantaloupe

VSO Chai Tea

This is based on a recipe shared with me by a revered chaiwallah from India. It is a blend of black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, allspice, cloves, and black pepper. It is highly spiced and ready for the heaviest creams you can throw at it.

VSO Cherry

The perfect balance of tart and sweet, all without the pit. Please note: this cherry flavor can become floral and medicinal above 3%.

VSO Chocolate

A nice well balanced chocolate. Not too sweet, not too dark. This is not your parents scratch and sniff chocolate. Great as a top note, a forward note, or a base note. Add this to your repertoire and see what recipe you can come up with next. Pencil shavings not included.

VSO Citrus Green Tea

A green tea infused with a blast of citrus flavor. A generous dose of lemon peel with a sweet refreshing orange that comes in behind.

VSO Clove

Clove is a pungent and aromatic flavor with a strong astringent bitterness. An intense flavor synonymous with fall!

VSO Cocoa

This is a bakers cocoa. Unsweetened with deep earthy tones and a very prominent chocolate flavor. For those of you who want to work on a ground up chocolate recipe, this one is for you.

VSO Cornmeal 

Maize, as introduced to us by Native Americans. Sweet, starchy, and great for cereals,. It is also a fantastic base to build your own cornbread.

VSO Cranberry

One of the few fruits native to North America. Cranberries are sweet and tart and were a tasty treat offered to the Pilgrims by Native Americans when they first came to the new world. They soon became synonymous with Thanksgiving and have been a significant part of Thanksgiving meals for centuries!

VSO Cucumber

Cucumber is a unique, subtle flavor. Similar to melons. Goes great with mint, or in any melon medley.

VSO Date

An intense, sweet flavor. A rich caramel base note boosted by hints of cinnamon and butterscotch.

VSO Dragon Fruit

The Dragon Fruit is the exotic fruit of the cactus Honolulu Queen. It’s brilliant colors and scales resemble that of a dragon. A delicious mix of kiwi and pear, this fruit is unique, sweet, and tasty.

VSO Elderflower

Elderflower is a green, fruity flavor. It has a faint floral note with little hints of pear. Some people even get a touch of tropical fruit. Elderflower pais amazingly well with any summer berry.

VSO Eggnog

The traditional sweet and spicy holiday drink. Very nutmeg forward with a slight hand  on the other spices. Finishes with a rich, creamy mouthfeel. It’s beginning to taste a lot like Christmas!

VSO Espresso

We take beans from a small estate in Harrar Ethiopia (now known as the Oromia region)  and roast them just past second crack. This provides you with a dark, full body taste with no burnt notes. If you are looking for a crisp, clean, unadulterated coffee flavor, look no further.

VSO Fig

The fig. Shrouded in mythology but full of flavor; a rich, creamy flavor with hints of honey.

VSO Fresh Bread

That fresh from the oven taste of white bread. A little yeast, a subtle crust and a soft hint of underlying sourness. The tail brings you a faint nuttiness from the wheat. Great for a garlic bread flavor using VSO Garlic!

VSO Garlic

Garlic has a pungent, spicy flavor that is synonymous with Italian cuisine. Couple this with the VSO Fresh Bread, and make a fantastic garlic bread recipe.

VSO Ginger

This ginger is hot, zesty, sweet and sassy. A perfect addition to holiday treats!

VSO Ginger Peach Tea

A hearty black tea with spicy ginger and juicy peach swirls throughout. A gentle balance of sweet and spicy dance around the robust earthy notes of the black tea.

VSO Grape

Sweet and tart, fresh from the vine taste. A small floral backnote can be detected at higher ratios.

VSO Guava

The guava comes from Mexico. The flavor is reminiscent of a mama strawberry and a daddy pear loving each other very much! A mild sweetness pairs well with the subtle acidity. Great balanced flavor with a blast of tropical flavor!

VSO Hibiscus

If a rose hip fell in love with a cranberry, you would get this powerful flavor of hibiscus. An assertive tart flavor brings forth a crisp refreshing taste. It has virtually no floral flavor, and can come through almost like candy. It goes great with black tea, and even better with a smooth melted caramel.

VSO Honeydew

Subtle melon flavor, light, and refreshing. Great with cucumber and mint for a crisp, clean creation.

VSO Huckleberry

Blueberry’s big brother. A more aggressive dark berry flavor with a fantastic tart finish. A small hint of wild abandonment with a refined sense of sweetness. Huckleberry is far more than just a little piece of pie!

VSO Jasmine

Jasmine is a subtle floral with a fresh bouquet of  top perfume notes. It is delicate, subtle, and very sophisticated. Mango and jasmine compliment each other famously. Scent rice with it, or add it to a green tea, and you will enjoy the flavors that burst forth in your recipe.

VSO Juniper

Juniper is a tart pungent flavor with hints of citrus and pine. It is the main flavor component in most fine gins.

VSO Kiwi

Sweet, tart, and oh so tropical. Kiwi will add that perfect balance to any fruit on the sweeter side.

VSO Lavender

Lavender is an assertive flavor with a fragrant floral scent.  A mild astringent flavor combines with a distinctive sweetness that mingles with an herbal earthiness. Lavender goes well with rose, and violet, but really shines with any kind of cream or dairy you can throw at it.

VSO Leather

The subtle, nuanced flavor and aroma of leather to add as an adjunct to your favorite recipe.

VSO Lemon

Tart and bright with a fantastic zesty finish.

VSO Lime

VSO Mint

This is your average cultivar of mint. The flavor and coolness are  directly in the middle of all the mints. Great for jellies and ice creams. Blends famously with your favorite chocolate.

VSO Nutmeg

Nutmeg brings a nutty slightly sweet profile to your recipes. It is an intense, highly  aromatic spice. Nutmeg is your magic wand when it comes to creams. One small dash will bring any cream to life.

VSO Oatmeal

A cooked, unsweetened, oatmeal. This is a blank slate, just waiting for you to add any VSO Flavors fruit, or fall spice. Be adventurous and test the waters as you build your next recipe with this base.

VSO Onion

The onion has an assertive, spicy punch of flavor. It is balanced out with a sublet sweet note that can be easily accentuated with VSO Sweet.

VSO Orange Pekoe Tea

A hearty black tea with rich earthy notes and faint floral overtones.
Orange Pekoe is a classification of Chinese grown tea. The tea does not have any orange flavoring. It signifies that the tea is harvested from the youngest leaves closest to the plant. They are known as the flushes. They give the best flavor of tea. The further leaves are much more inferior in taste and are generally found in your mass produced teas.

VSO Oregano

Oregano is a delicate balance of sweet and spicy. It has a bold, earthy taste with a slight hint of bitterness. Goes fantastic with VSO Tomato and VSO Basil

VSO Papaya

The papaya comes from Mexico. A subtle taste of melon, with a little less sweetness. Presents with a crisp up front flavor and a slight creamy mouth feel.

VSO Passion Fruit

The Passion Fruit is sweet, tart, and tropical. Great in beverages, especially tea. You can also add it to a sweet bakery treat that could use a bit of acidity to help balance the sweet.

VSO Passion Tea

A black tea infused with passion fruit and calendula.  A sweet and sassy tea with a very balanced flavor.

VSO Peach

The taste of summer, right at your fingertips. Sweet, and juicy with just the right amount of tang.

VSO Pear

We take a crisp, juicy, Bartlett Pear at the peak of ripeness, and extract every bit of flavor.

VSO Peppermint

VSO Pink Grapefruit

A perfect balance of bitter, sweet, and tart. This flavor will brighten up any recipe. One of the best smelling flavors of all!

VSO Plum

The plum is a sweet, seductive fruit with a tart pop.  The flesh is juicy and sweet, while the skin gives you an incredible tart flavor to break through that sweetness. Fantastic as a jam or jelly.

VSO Pomegranate 

The fruit of love. A bit astringent. Fruity. Woody. Sour. Pomegranate is an explosion of flavor that makes your taste buds sing!

VSO Pumpkin

This is a simple, natural pumpkin flavor. No overbearing clove, or a ton of other spices.   Simple, straight forward pumpkin flavor.

VSO Raisin

The raisin. The quintessential dried fruit.  Sweet, satisfying and oh so versatile.  Place it in your bowl of oatmeal, or in an cookie. The sky’s the limit with this flavor.

VSO Red Chile

The red chili. The spice behind many recipes. A nice bite. Not too hot, not too cool. It is followed by a sweet acidity. Take a walk on the wild side and add a bit to your next chocolate recipe. You will be happy you did!

VSO Red Raspberry

Fresh, ripe, red raspberry. Enough tart to stand up to anything you want to throw at it.

VSO Rhubarb

Sweet and tart. Great by itself, but a complimentary flavor to a plethora of fruits.

VSO Rice

Rice is a subtle, nuanced flavor with a slight crispy, starchy mouthfeel. Fantastic for building a little body into your cereal recipes without being overbearing.

VSO Rosemary

Rosemary is an herbaceous, woody herb that has slight hints of citrus and pine. A very sturdy flavor that can take over a recipe very easily. Even though rosemary is a savory herb, and goes fantastic with bread and other savory dishes, it really shines when paired with apples, apricots, or figs. It is even better as an adjunct to a tasty lemonade.

VSO Rum

This dark rum has an earthy base note with hints of pepper. Top notes include wisps of vanilla and brown sugar.

VSO Rose

The rose is a highly fragrant, delicate flavor.  It has a sweet base flavor with hints of green apples and strawberry, and a very floral finish. Goes great with violet and lavender as well as honey, apricots and summer berries.

VSO Rye

Rye has a sharp, sour taste that leaves a lingering spiciness. Great for adding depth to bakery flavors, and fantastic inside of your boozy recipes to mimic rye whiskey.

VSO Sour

A couple of drops from this flavor enhancer will give you the pucker. Be moderate.

VSO Spearmint

Spearmint has a subtle nuanced flavor and fragrance. It is a little sweet and does not offer as strong a cooling effect as others in the mint family.

VSO Star Anise

The gentle nuanced flavor of black licorice. Star anise brings a gentle anis taste without being pungent and overly spicy.

VSO Stevia

This is 100% natural liquid stevia. It is a 2% suspension in PG.

VSO Strawberry

This strawberry flavor is a fresh from the strawberry patch. A little sweet, a little tart, and very juicy.

VSO Summer Ambrosia Tea

A black tea infused with safflower. with hints of cherry, coconut, and pineapple.

VSO Sweet

A proprietary blend of stevia, sucralose, and ethyl maltol. VERY SWEET!

VSO Tomato

The Tomato. The best fruit ever found in vegetable land. Sweet, tangy and balanced. Great for beverages, or as a supporting base.

VSO Tropical Fruit Tea

A black tea infused with cornflower and mango, with hints of papaya, pineapple, and dragon fruit.

VSO Violet

The violet smells of sweetness with a touch of musk. Once introduced to your palate it brings a bittersweet flavor with a significant floral finish. Fantastic with other florals such as rose and lavender, but really shines with acidic citrus flavors.

VSO Watermelon

The sweet juicy taste of a watermelon running down your chin. Yep. It’s like that.

VSO Wheat

Wheat imparts a very big body with a deep, earthy nuttiness. Great for cereals, breads, and for the adventurous, beer!

VSO White Tea

White tea is light, crisp and refreshing. A lightly processed tea, white tea retains many nuanced flavors. Expect a slight honey note with a lingering floral aftertaste. A complex tea that begs for the addition of crisp summer fruits.

VSO Wintergreen

A robust, complex, minty flavor. This flavor was so commonly used in teas, that it is alternately named Tea Berry. A great addition to a hot tea, a cold ice cream, or a complex chewing gum.
